National Horseracing Museum

From the early royal origins of the Sport of Kings at Newmarket to its modern day heroes. Exhibits include a wonderful array of racing memorabilia from magnificent paintings and trophies to extraordinary betting machines, the skeleton of the greatest “little racehorse of the century”, Hyperion and some amazing film footage of memorable races during past centuries. Moments of time captured for all to see.

But if its fun you are after, make your way to the Practical Gallery in the museum. Dress up in racing silks and take a ride on the racehorse simulator. Talk to the staff and hear what life is like as a stable lad, jockey or trainer – straight from the horse’s mouth!
