Agricultural Museum

Chiltern Open Air Museum

This attraction was nominated by Emma Parsons

Museum about life in the Chilterns, with a curious collection of old buildings rescued and rebuilt in the musuem grounds. There’s a working Victorian farm that was used in the filming of Downtown Abbey, a playground and a cafe. There’s lots of free hands on activities for children and a wood for building dens. At the weekends they often have historial reenactors staying there, so sometimes WWII is taking place in the wood or the civil war is happening on the village green. Nobody seems to know it’s there and we only found it by following a brown sign when we first moved here.
