Bee Shelter

Entrance is FREE!

This “bee bole” was built in 1852. It is an ornate stone stucture used to house bees and was an early form of the bee hive. After rediscovery of the redundant structure in the 1950s the bee shelter has been moved and restored on several occasions, it’s final resting place is the Hartpury churchyard where visitors can see the splendid bee bole for themselves and read about it’s history.
